Finding Joy in the Hustle and Bustle of the Holidays
It feels like the minute the pumpkins hit the porch, the calendar starts filling up faster than we can flip the page. There are gifts to buy, meals to plan, gatherings to host, and before we know it — the peace of the season gets buried under our to-do lists.
But before we dive headfirst into the hustle and bustle, let’s pause. Let’s take a deep breath and remember what this season is really about.
The holidays aren’t meant to drain us — they’re meant to remind us. Of joy. Of gratitude. Of the incredible love that came down in the quiet of a manger.
I know how easy it is to get caught up in making everything just right — the perfect meal, the perfect decorations, the perfect photo. But Scripture gently reminds us that joy isn’t found in perfection; it’s found in presence.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
That verse hits differently during the holiday rush. It’s a whisper that says: You don’t have to do it all. You just have to make room for Me.
So as we head into this season, let’s find joy not in the hustle — but in the small moments. The laughter at the table, the smell of cookies baking, the twinkle lights that remind us of hope. Because when our hearts are still, that’s where the real joy shines through.
