Peace in the Pause: Finding God in the Quiet Moments

November always seems to arrive with a quiet whisper — a gentle reminder to slow down before the rush of the holidays takes over. The air cools, the days shorten, and everything around us hints that it’s time to pause, reflect, and rest a little deeper.

But if we’re honest, slowing down isn’t always easy. Between homeschool lessons, busy schedules, and preparing for the holidays, life has a way of speeding up just when we need the stillness most.

That’s where God meets us — in the pause.

Sometimes peace doesn’t come from having everything under control. It comes from handing it over. From breathing in the calm moments of the morning before the house wakes up, or sitting with a warm cup of coffee and remembering that we don’t have to rush through every season.

God isn’t asking us to do it all. He’s asking us to be present — to see Him in the small things: the sound of leaves underfoot, laughter echoing through the house, or the way sunlight filters through the window.

So before the busy days of the holiday season begin, take a moment to pause. Be still. Let your heart breathe.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

When we learn to rest in Him, even the busiest seasons can be filled with peace. And, let’s face it….. the busy holidays are coming up faster than we thought.
