The Light That Leads Us Home
As November draws to a close and December peeks around the corner, my heart naturally begins to shift — from gratitude to anticipation. The Thanksgiving leftovers are tucked away, the house feels a little quieter, and I can almost sense the stillness that comes before the Advent season begins.
This time of year always reminds me that no matter how busy life gets, light always finds its way in.
From the soft glow of candles on the table to the first twinkle of Christmas lights, there’s something sacred about this season’s warmth. It’s not just the decorations or the gatherings — it’s the reminder that Christ is our light, guiding us through every season, every challenge, every unknown.
As we prepare for Advent, I’m reminded that His light doesn’t just shine for us — it shines through us. When we love others, serve our families, and choose peace over hurry, we reflect the light of the One who leads us home.
This season, may we make room for the quiet — for prayer, for reflection, for gratitude carried forward from Thanksgiving. Because before we step into December, it’s good to pause and remember where our light comes from.
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” — John 8:12
No matter how dark the world may seem, His light still leads the way — steady, faithful, and always guiding us home.
